Hours worked
Each month the ABS releases a more detailed set of data from the monthly labour force survey. The more detailed release typically comes a week after the primary release. The next detailed release is scheduled for this coming Thursday.
Over the past 12 months, the more detailed data has shown some interesting changes in the hours worked. The proportion of the cohort working 1-29 hours is largely unchanged over the year.
There has been a jump in the proportion of the cohort working 30 to 34 hours.
But in the last year there has been a decline in the proportion of all of the cohorts working 35 hours or more.
