I spent a little time this afternoon writing python code to automate the production of regional unemployment rate charts from the ABS monthly report on regional unemployment (table 16 in the detailed 6291 monthly labour force survey report).
Here are the 94 charts in all their splendour. Please note - this is original series data. It has not been seasonally adjusted. Some of the regions have small populations and pretty much across the board the data looks volatile.
Some of the charts that caught my eye were: Fairfield-Liverpool in Sydney, the Hunter excluding Newcastle, Ipswich, Far North Queensland and Northern Tasmania.
